In 1779, in Sheltomezh, the construction of a stone church in honor of the Resurrection of Christ began on the site of an old wooden temple. The initiator of the construction was a local native, Moscow second major Nikolai Dmitrievich Skripitsin. The construction progressed slowly, first due to a lack of funds, and then due to Skripitsin's death. His son, Evgeny Skripitsin, completed the construction and on February 7, 1832, the day of the church's consecration, brought to the village the miraculous Shestokov icon of the Mother of God. The main altar of the cold church was consecrated in honor of the Renewal of the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ. In 1883-1884, a refectory was added to the church with two warm chapels: the northern in honor of St. George the Victorious and the southern in the name of the Czestochowa icon of the Mother of God. The consecration of the renovated church took place on December 4, 1884.

Despite the destruction of the monastery in the 1930s, the church has survived to this day.
