The village of Pavlovsk is located near wells, 21 versts from the district town and 64 versts from the provincial city.

The first mentions of the village and its church date back to the early 17th century and are found in the books of the Patriarchal Treasury. In 1628, it is recorded: "the church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the village of Pavlovsk, in the estate of Princes Fyodor and Ivan Tatev, tribute twelve altyns four dengi." In 1632, it is noted: "according to the records of the Trinity-Sergius Monastery, this village was transferred to Princes Boris and Ivan Tatev for the Trinity Monastery, and that church is recorded in the Trinity estates." The village remained under the ownership of the Trinity-Sergius Monastery until 1764, when the monastery's estates were confiscated by the treasury.

The current stone church with a bell tower was built by the efforts of the parishioners in 1824 on the site of the old wooden church. In 1869, also thanks to the parishioners, a stone fence was erected around the church.

The church has two altars: in the cold part, in honor of the Resurrection of the Lord, and in the warm chapel, in the name of the Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky.

Church documents have been preserved in full: copies of the metric books since 1803 and confession lists since 1829. An inventory of church property is kept in the sacristy.

The church owns five chapels: two wooden and three stone, as well as a wooden watchman's lodge.

The parish includes the village and the villages: Shilovskaya, Yakovlevo, Aleshino, Seltso, Mikhalovo, Novinki, Alexeyevka, and Chentsy. In total, the parish has 163 households, 422 men, and 452 women.

Since 1891, a church-parish school has been operating in the village, located in the church watchman's lodge.
