The Watchtower Nicholas Church was located in the city of Kozlov, now known as Michurinsk, in the Tambov province. It was a stone, warm building. The refectory part was built in 1772, and the main building in 1849 with funds from local residents. The altars of the church were dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ, the holy apostles Peter and Paul, the icon of the Mother of God "Tikhvin", as well as saints Blaise, Haralampius, and Nicholas the Wonderworker. The church housed the venerated icon of the Mother of God "Tikhvin", as well as ancient relics such as the Gospel from the time of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, printed in Moscow in 1663, and a cross with an engraving from 1762.
The church had men's and women's schools run by the ministry, as well as church parish care. The church was destroyed in 1941.
