The stone two-altar Church of the Resurrection of Christ, built in the late 18th century with funds from the Beketov family, was closed in 1936 by the decision of the Soviet authorities and completely destroyed in 1950. Since then, the villagers remained without church services and spiritual guidance. In November 2008, an initiative group from Laishyevka, led by Alexandra Vasilyevna Tarasova, decided to restore the Orthodox church, effectively rebuilding it from scratch.

Since the historical site of the church in the center of the village is now occupied by a store, it was decided to build the church on a new plot allocated by the administration on the outskirts of Laishyevka, near the cemetery. The parish council of the church was headed by Archpriest Oleg Shmalko from the Holy Mother of God Neopalimovsky Cathedral, who took on the responsibilities of construction. Fundraising began, but it soon became clear that significant financing would be required for a large stone church, which would not be gathered quickly. Therefore, it was decided to build a temporary economical church using modern modular technologies and metal structures.

Construction work started in May 2011, and within a month the building was ready. A few more months were spent on interior finishing and acquiring liturgical items. On the last day of the year, the first service was held in the new church, becoming a long-awaited event for the residents.
