The village of Krasnogor is known as the second capital of the Orenburg region. The first capital was modern Orsk, and the third and final one became Orenburg in its current location. The village was founded in the summer of 1737 by ataman Vasily Arapov of the Sakmara town. On August 1, 1741, at the initiative of Governor Vasily Tatishchev, who wanted to make this place the center of the province, Krasnogor became a Cossack fortress. However, in 1743, one of the most famous Orenburg governors, Ivan Nepluev, founded Orenburg in its modern location.
The Church of the Ascension of Christ was built in 1752 through the efforts of a dragoon colonel from the Sergievsky regiment, presumably by the surname Dadin. Initially, the church in Krasnogor had one altar, but it was later rebuilt, and two more altars were added: to Archangel Michael and Prophet Elijah.
The revival of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ began in the spring of 2009 when a Board of Trustees was established under the leadership of Vladimir Ivanchenko, chairman of the Saraktash community. The board included representatives of the Cossacks, commercial structures, and the clergy, including the dean of the Saraktash district, Archpriest Nikolai Stremsky.
On October 9, 2010, the cross was consecrated and the dome was installed on the restored church, and on November 21, 2010, the first Divine Liturgy was held in the revived three-altar Church of the Resurrection of Christ in the village of Krasnogor in the Saraktash district. It was conducted by Archpriest Nikolai Stremsky, Priest Nikolai Klighun, and Deacon Vasily Badyul.
On September 30, 2011, Metropolitan Valentin Mishchuk of Orenburg and Saraktash consecrated the three-altar church in the village of Krasnogor, with the main altar dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ. The church also has side altars dedicated to Archangel Michael and the Prophet Elijah the Tishbite.
