On May 22, 2018, a worship ceremony took place at the site of the new parish church construction. On the day of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, Bishop Ioann of Kalach and Pallassovka conducted the laying of the new Orthodox church in honor of the Resurrection of Christ and consecrated the cornerstone of its foundation. The ceremony was attended by priests from the Kalach deanery, as well as dozens of parishioners from the Kalach Holy Nicholas Cathedral. Bishop Ioann and the clergy installed a cross at the future altar site and laid the stone, expressing gratitude to those who contributed to the start of the church's construction: the head of the Kalach district P.N. Kharitonenkо, the head of the city V.F. Krishtal, and the head of the construction organization K.A. Ponomarev.

Walls of the future church are already being erected over the foundation located near the city cemetery. An information board at the construction site states, "Construction of the church in honor of the Resurrection of Christ begins here by the blessing of Bishop Ioann of Kalach and Pallassovka."
