The church in honor of the renewal of the temple of the Resurrection of Christ is a two-story stone building that serves as a parish church and is notable for its durability. It has two altars: on the upper floor in honor of the Resurrection of Christ, and on the lower floor, in honor of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God. The construction of the church began in 1787 with funds from the landowner of the village of Borzovo, Pyotr Ivanovich Yarovsky. The particularly revered relics of the church include the icon of the Mother of God of the Seeking of the Lost, two altar crosses, two body crosses, and the icon of the Assumption of the Mother of God with particles of the relics of various saints. In the village, opposite the church, there is a wooden pillar chapel surrounded by an iron fence.

The church owns 38 desyatinas and 440 square fathoms of land. There are two wooden houses for the priest and the psalmist to live in. The church funds amount to 4480 rubles, of which 1946 rubles 67 kopecks are intended for the church, and 2515 rubles 33 kopecks for the clergy. The parish has 226 men and 244 women. The village is located on a picturesque hill on the right bank of the Koloksha River, 66 versts from Yaroslavl. The villages of Gunderikha, Torlopovskoye, Bludinovo, and Chernyshevo in the Romanov and Borisoglebsky districts of the Khopylevskaya volost are populated by peasants from the Tver province of Bezhetsk district, who settled here about ten years ago. The clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist, receiving a salary of 392 rubles, while the parish capital amounts to 2515 rubles 33 kopecks.

The Resurrection Church of the village of Borzovo, located away from highways and central authorities, remained active until the early 1960s. In 1961, it was closed, and to this day the building has remained in a ruined state.
