The Resurrection parish was established in 1995. The Church of the Resurrection of Christ at Soldier's Field, located in the village of Novozhiznensky in the Gorodishchensky district of the Volgograd region, serves as a memorial to the soldiers who fell at the approaches to Stalingrad. The idea of immortalizing the memory of the defenders of Stalingrad connects the "Novozhiznensky Church of the Resurrection" with the "Church of All Saints" on Mamayev Kurgan. This is reflected in the shared proportions, architecture, and the upward-reaching form of the church. The architect was A. Lisin.
