The church is located in a repurposed building that was used as a store during Soviet times, which is noticeable at first glance. The church was opened in the early 1990s. The building is small both outside and inside, so it cannot accommodate all those wishing to attend services. Locals refer to the church as a 'chapel.' Many parishioners are forced to travel to neighboring villages, such as Edon, for services.
For a long time, there were plans in Stepanzevo to build a new church to replace the current facility. A new church is now under construction in the village.
