The book "Saint Blessed Sergius and the Nizhny Novgorod Land" states that the stone parish church in the village of Marmyzhi, in the Perevoz district, was built in 1836 through the efforts of the parishioners and with the support of benefactors. White limestone was used for its construction in the classical style. The main altar of the church was consecrated in honor of the miraculous icon of the Vladimir Mother of God on September 24, 1837, according to the old style. This was done by the archpriest, the rector of the church in the village of Revezeni, Priest Afanasy Voskresensky. In the refectory part of the church, two more chapels were consecrated. The right chapel, dedicated to the three hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom, was consecrated by the same priest on December 24, 1836. The left chapel, in honor of Saint Blessed Sergius of Radonezh, was consecrated much later, on September 24, 1847. Until the mid-19th century, the Vladimir church did not have a bell tower, and four bells hung on oak posts under a canopy. In the late 1840s, a three-tiered stone bell tower was added to the church. It is likely that at that time the right chapel in the refectory part of the church was reconsecrated in honor of the holy prophet Archangel Michael. In the 1930s, the church was closed and desecrated. Today, only the main square of the church remains, while the refectory and bell tower have been completely lost.
