A new church was built on the site of the old temple, which was erected in 1720 and consecrated in honor of St. Alexius, Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia. On September 10, 1918, the entire brotherhood of the monastery, led by Archimandrite Sergius, was shot in the refectory of the old church. This event is mentioned on a memorial plaque located on the northern side of the new church. The old church was destroyed in 1928. The new church was consecrated by episcopal ordination on July 28, 2004, in honor of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Prince Vladimir.
