In the mid-2000s, the management of AK "Tulamashzavod" decided to build an Orthodox church on the company's premises. The initiative to create an Orthodox center at the factory emerged back in 2000 thanks to the workers. Initially, it was planned to erect the church on the site of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow," built in 1844 and demolished during the Soviet era, but later it was decided to dismantle an old administrative building at the corner of Mosina and Soviet streets for future construction.

Construction of the church began on December 5, 2007, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the factory. Architects from Ivanovo worked for a year and a half, and on May 15, 2009, the church was consecrated.

On May 25, 2011, in honor of the 300th anniversary of arms production in Tula, a bell tower was laid next to the church, which was built and consecrated on February 16, 2012.

On July 28, 2012, a bronze monument to St. Vladimir the Equal-to-the-Apostles was unveiled and consecrated on the church grounds.

The church is built in an ancient style, reflecting the features of wooden architecture of ancient Rus, modeled after the shrines in Kizhi and Seliger. It is constructed from cylindrical pine logs without the use of nails. The height of the church to the dome is about 14 meters, and the dome with the cross is just over four meters. The domes and crosses are covered with a durable material "under gold" with trinitrotoluene.

The bell tower has two tiers, a hexagonal shape, and arched openings. Inside the bell tower is a grand staircase, and in the center of the first tier, a color music fountain. The bell tower is equipped with six bells that play 14 melodies.

The wrought-iron decorative fence of the complex is made according to the sketches of the lattice of the Summer Garden in St. Petersburg, which was also created by Tula craftsmen.

The adjacent territory features flower beds and gardens, and the buildings of the church and bell tower are illuminated with warm light at night.
