The church and the brotherhood building were erected in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The small temple was originally consecrated in the name of Alexius, the Man of God. In 1794, when the building and church had fallen into disrepair, they were renovated with the funds of Colonel N.I. Kiseleva. At that time, the temple was reconsecrated in the name of Saint Martyr Sophia and her daughters Faith, Hope, and Love. Restoration took place from 1992 to 1994.
