In the settlements of the newly baptized, active church construction began, and it was mandated to build one wooden church for every 250 households. Bolshaya Rudka, originally a Mari village, was populated by pagans. Over time, more Russians began to arrive, and by the decree of the Holy Synod on February 1, 1880, it was decided to create a new parish in the Yaran district from 12 villages, separated from the parishes of Sharangsky, Kundyzhsky, and Rozhentsovsky. In the village of Bolshaya Rudka of the Sharang parish, it was planned to build a church and appoint a clergy consisting of a rector and a psalmist. These events laid the foundation for the establishment of an Orthodox shrine in this place.

The new church was planned to have three altars: the main one in the name of St. Basil the Great, the right one in honor of the Uncreated Image of the Savior, and the left one in honor of the holy and righteous Prince Alexander Nevsky. However, only the main altar was consecrated. From March 6, 1906, until the church's closure, its priest was Alexey Alexeyevich Chistyakov.

In the early 1930s, the church was closed and partially destroyed. Later, the building was used by the local collective farm: the domes and crosses were removed, and brick partitions were installed inside for the collective farm workshop. Machines were set up, and barrels of oil and diesel were stored. After the liquidation of the collective farm, the property was removed, but garbage and scrap metal remained. The wall paintings disappeared, trees grew on the roof, and birches and Canadian maples spread around the church. The church remained inactive for 74 years.

Since 2011, its gradual restoration began thanks to the efforts of the community. Much was lost during the period of inactivity, but a significant amount of work has already been done. Garbage has been removed from the church and the surrounding area, and retirees maintain cleanliness. In 2012, the right altar was equipped, where prayers, memorial services, baptisms, and liturgies began to be held. The church is gradually being revived: the roof is being repaired first to prevent the destruction of the brickwork.

On the feast day of the Uncreated Image of the Savior, 74 years after its closure, a service was held in the church. The prayer service was conducted by the Dean of the Uren district, Archpriest Nikolai Chelenyak, the rector of the church in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity of the village of Sharanga, Priest Dionysius Gorbakov, and the rector of the church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God of the village of Rozhentsovo, Priest Andrei Kochetov.
