On September 5, 2015, Metropolitan Benjamin of Ryazan and Mikhailov conducted the Great Consecration of the church in honor of Basil, the first bishop of Ryazan, in the village of Novoselki, Ryazan district. This day coincided with the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary. The bishop also performed the rite of consecration of Antimens, which is conducted once every few years and exclusively by an archbishop. After this, the metropolitan led the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated St. Basil's Church.
