The church in the village of Bolotovo, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, was built of stone in 1713 thanks to the efforts of the parishioners. It also has a stone bell tower and is surrounded by a stone fence. In 1901, the cemetery at the church was expanded to the north by a plot of land of one dessiatina, which was donated by the peasants of the village and enclosed by a moat. The church has two altars: one in the cold part, dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and Basil the Blessed, the Moscow miracle worker, and the other in the warm stone temple, which was expanded in 1904. On the right side of the temple is the altar of Saint Theodosius, the Chernigov miracle worker, and on the left, that of the Venerable Seraphim of Sarov, the miracle worker. Of particular value is the locally venerated ancient icon of Saint Basil the Blessed. The church is located 43 versts from Kostroma.
