In the 15th century, a wooden church was first built in the Nikol-Solbinsky Monastery in honor of St. Nicholas, with an altar dedicated to the Great Martyr Barbara. Therefore, St. Barbara is considered the patroness of the monastery. On April 25, 2006, Archbishop Cyril of Yaroslavl and Rostov laid the foundation for a new residential building with a church dedicated to this saint. The first floor of the three-story building houses a sisterhood dining room, while the second and third floors contain cells that lead to the church of the Great Martyr Barbara. To the right, a tall observation tower adjoins the building, from the top platform of which there is a magnificent view of the endless forests and the river. The building features beautiful architecture.
