The red brick complex was likely built in the first half of the 19th century. Church records mention that fifty years after the first service, it was expanded.

The architecture is in the classical style. The main building is a single-story octagon with a shortened lantern, topped by a massive spherical dome. It was previously crowned with a cupola, which is now lost. On the west side, the church is connected by a covered passage to a three-tiered bell tower. To the east is the apse, where the altar likely was.

Currently, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is abandoned. It is heavily damaged: the masonry and dome are destroyed, the interior finishes have not survived, and the building is overgrown with vegetation. Restoration work is not planned in the near future.
