On September 10, 2010, Archbishop Georgiy consecrated the Assumption Church in the village of Shimorskoye. The village formed around a wooden church built on a hill. A few years later, the church was dismantled, and in 1809, the Batashov merchants erected a stone Assumption Church with three altars, designed for 600 parishioners. In 1937, the church was destroyed, the bells were thrown down, and the iconostasis and icons were desecrated. Restoration of the church began only in 1995. In 2007, a set of bells was installed on the bell tower, and a year later, a clock with a bell chime.
