On May 31, 2001, by the blessing of Metropolitan Simon of Ryazan and Kasimov, a decision was made to organize the Assumption Church parish. The parish was registered on June 13 of the same year. In 2002, a stone was laid, marking the beginning of the construction of a new church in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The construction was completed in 2004, and on September 4, Archbishop Pavel of Ryazan and Kasimov conducted the grand consecration of the church.

The village of Uspenskoe received its current name in 1995. During the Soviet era, it was called the Michurin State Farm. In the early 90s, local residents supported the initiative of the head of the Skopin district, Pyotr Konstantinovich Alabin, to rename the settlement in honor of the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The residents decided that there must be a church in the village. A board of trustees was created, consisting of local business leaders. A location for the future church was chosen, and the first stone was consecrated. The administration of the Skopin district also actively participated in this process. Next to the church, a church shop was built, where parishioners can purchase icons, oil lamps, crosses, candles, and Orthodox books. Priest Gennady Lepeshkevich was appointed as the rector of the church, who actively participated in the construction from the very beginning.

The consecration of the Assumption Church became a significant event, as it is an example from recent history when a newly built church, rather than a restored one, was consecrated in the district.
