The Assumption cemetery church in the city of Poshekhonye is a stone structure without a parish, but functioning independently. It is distinguished by its durability and has two altars: the main one dedicated to the Assumption of the Mother of God, and in the refectory, to John the Baptist and Forerunner of the Lord. The church was built in 1822 with donations from parishioners. The icon of "All Who Sorrow, Mother of God" has received special veneration among the faithful. There are two two-story houses for the church clergy, which were donated by merchant V. V. Sveshnikov. The church capital amounts to 475 rubles in interest-bearing bonds. A wooden chapel, built in 1870, is located 50 fathoms from the church. The church is situated on a plain at the edge of the city. The staff includes two priests, a deacon, and two psalmists. The parish capital amounts to 18,295 rubles in bonds.
