On September 5, 1904, a prayer service was held to mark the beginning of construction, and on May 15, 1905, the laying of the church took place. The bricks for the construction were produced at a factory owned by the church, and the mortar was prepared using egg white, which ensured its strength. Ivan Pavlovich personally supervised the construction process, demonstrating strictness and high demands. The main craftsmen, builders, and artists were local residents from Vladimir. The dimensions of the church were impressive: it was 47 meters long, 21 meters wide, and 8.5 meters high. Ivan Pavlovich ordered work only from highly skilled professionals. Most of the items for the rituals were made at the Moscow factory 'Partnership of P.I. Olovyanishnikov', which was considered the best in the production of church utensils in the early 20th century.

On July 19, 1910, the church was solemnly consecrated in the presence of Archbishop Nikolai, who led the service, along with the proto-presbyters of the Assumption and Dmitrievsky cathedrals of Vladimir, as well as the clergy of the Pokrovsky district. On the same day, with the participation of protodeacon A.I. Lebedev, the altars were consecrated: the left in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the right in honor of John the Theologian. The first rector of the Holy Assumption Church was Pyotr Grigoryevich Pokrovsky, who remained in this position until his death in 1954. An article titled 'The Village of Petushki and Its Church in Honor of the Assumption of the Mother of God' was published in the 'Vladimir Diocesan Gazette', highlighting the significance of the event and describing the features of the new church: 'Its style, artistry, and elegance make a tremendous impression on visitors. The entrance to the church is adorned with the inscription: 'Faith without works is dead.' The interior decoration of the church is of particular value. The amazing architectural space, picturesque design, and items of decorative applied art are unparalleled. The carved oak iconostasis looks magnificent, with icons shining in gold against a dark background. The picturesque ornaments of the church, images of cherubs on the iconostasis, saints on the pillars and walls, as well as some themes of the wall paintings resonate with the monumental works of Viktor Vasnetsov and Dmitry Polenov. Many items of church utensils bear an inscription engraved or embroidered at the request of the church founder I.P. Kuznetsov: 'For the salvation of Ioann and Natalia with their children.' Many guests from the capital attended the church opening in July 1910, for whom tents were set up on the estate grounds. Guests were served using a field kitchen with a French chef, and porcelain dishes with the monogram of Kuznetsov's namesake were brought on carts from the Petushki station.

The unique three-part church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the 'Neo-Russian' style, characteristic of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and is a rare monument in the Vladimir region, which researchers attribute to the direction of 'retrosyentivism', a variety of late modernism. Ivan Pavlovich died during the Civil War and was buried in the northern part of the church fence, where a wooden cross was placed on his grave.

In 2004, one of the regular parishioners of the church donated all her savings for the installation of a memorial plaque on Kuznetsov's grave, and now the cross is located behind this plaque. In the early 1930s, large and small bells were thrown from the church bell tower, many of which broke. In the second half of the 20th century, several small bells were returned to the church, while the tongues of the large ones are kept in the sound tier of the bell tower. On July 30-31, 2010, celebrations were held at the Holy Assumption Church to mark the 100th anniversary of its consecration. By this time, repairs had been carried out in the church, and earlier benefactors donated new bells and allocated funds for gilding the church dome.
