The village of Malotitsy, also known as Molotitsy, is located on the Ushna River, 115 versts from Vladimir and 21 versts from Murom. According to the scribal books of 1629-1630, the village belonged to several landowners, and at that time there was no church. However, in the second half of the 17th century, a church appeared here. The 1676 records mention a wooden church dedicated to Saint George the Great Martyr.

In 1754, landowner Sergey Glebovsky built a stone temple in Malotitsy on the site of the wooden one. The external appearance of the church has remained almost unchanged, except for the replacement of the wooden roof with an iron one. The interior decoration has been updated several times. The church has two altars: the main one dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and in the warm chapel, to Saint George the Great Martyr.

The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. The main church icon, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in a silver vestment, is accompanied by a reliquary containing particles of holy relics. The clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist. Their maintenance is ensured by interest capital, arable land, services, and sacramental corrections, which bring in more than 600 rubles a year.

The clergy members live in their own houses on church land. The parish includes the village of Malotitsy and the villages of Baranovka and Glebovka, where the clerical records list 187 households and 1600 residents, of which 750 are men and 850 are women. Since 1892, a church-parish school has been operating in the village of Malotitsy.
