On August 28, 2010, Orthodox Christians celebrated one of the twelve main church holidays, the Assumption of the Mother of God. This day became particularly significant for the parishioners of the newly constructed church in the village of Krutets, as the temple was adorned with two new dome crosses.

The village of Krutets, located in a picturesque corner of the Alexandrovsky district, holds in its history the fates of the Obolensky princes, the commander Ivan Buturlin, who was supported by Peter I, hieromonk Cornelius, spiritual writer Sergey Nilus, and scholar Vasily Zubov, known as the 'Russian Leonardo da Vinci.' The Buturlin-Zubov estate, built over a hundred years ago, has survived to this day. However, nothing remains of the Assumption of the Mother of God Church, consecrated in 1676, and the Assumption Men's Monastery, which existed since the time of Ivan the Terrible. The monastery was destroyed in the early 17th century during the Polish-Lithuanian intervention, and the church was demolished in the 1970s.

In 1999, a memorial cross was erected at the site of the church's altar. Eight years later, thanks to the funds from patrons and the religious organization 'Parish of the Holy Assumption of the village of Krutets,' the construction of a new church began. At the laying of the first stone on September 3, 2007, Archbishop Evlogy of Vladimir and Suzdal was present. In his sermon, he noted that prayer in the church supports a person in earthly life and prepares them for the transition to another life. A pure soul does not die; rather, it experiences the Assumption, like the Blessed Virgin Mary, in honor of whom the church is named.

Three years later, the church was adorned with crosses. The dean of the Alexandrovsky district, Father Alexander, compared the installation of the crosses to the coronation of a king and emphasized that the cross is not only an ornament of the church but also of every Christian, as from the moment of baptism, one bears the cross as a symbol of God's glory, the preaching of the Gospel, and protection from misfortunes.

The crosses were made at the Holy Assumption Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The blessing of the crosses before their installation was conducted by the rector of the Holy Trinity Church in Karabanovo, Father Evgeny. With the beginning of the church's construction in Krutets, he had more responsibilities, as it became a parish of the Karabanovo church. Father Evgeny blessed those who manually, without machinery, lifted the crosses onto the roof. Despite the pouring rain, the crosses shone on the church, so that everyone, as Father Alexander noted, upon waking and seeing this beauty, would reflect on the eternal and on God.
