In 1905, Old Believers adhering to the Belokrinitsky priesthood appealed to the Yaroslavl provincial government for permission to build a prayer house in the village of Yelokhino. In 1907, they also requested permission to erect a bell tower. Thanks to the efforts of Father Vasily Vitushkin, a stone church was built in 1908, an Old Believer community was established, a shelter for 10 elderly women was opened, and an Old Believer school was founded, where up to 20 children were educated.

Later, at a consecrated council in Moscow, it was decided to consider the Assumption-Nikolsky Church in Yelokhino as the cathedral of the Yaroslavl-Kostroma diocese. In April 1908, the relics of Bishop Irinarh returned to the Yelokhino parish.

In 1911, the Old Believers again appealed to the Yaroslavl provincial government for permission to construct a second tier of the church's bell tower in Yelokhino. However, comparing the current appearance of the church with the project from 1911, it can be concluded that these plans were not realized.

Today, Old Believers adhering to the Belokrinitsky priesthood live in the territory of the Vyatskaya rural administration. The parish is experiencing a revival, and the descendants of the Old Believers who built the church come to it from nearby villages and more distant places. On August 8, 2003, a religious procession took place through the nearby villages where Old Believers live or have lived.
