The Assumption Church in the village of Dubyany was built of stone in 1811 with funds from Paraskovya Kolycheva. Next to it is another stone church, the John the Baptist Church with a bell tower, erected in 1797 thanks to Nadezhda Bartenyeva. The fence around the churches is also made of stone. The village has two cemeteries: one by the church and another half a verst away, surrounded by a wooden fence. The Assumption Church has three altars: in honor of the Assumption of the Mother of God, Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and Saint John Chrysostom. The John the Baptist Church also has three altars: in honor of the Nativity of John the Baptist, Saint Dimitri of Rostov, and the holy martyrs Cyricus and Julitta.

The village is located 95 versts from Kostroma and 33 versts from Galich. The John the Baptist Church, located south of the Assumption Church, has been lost.
