The Berezovsky plant is located 13 versts northeast of Yekaterinburg, on the Berezovka River, which gave it its name. It is primarily known for its gold mining operations. The gold washing plant was founded here in 1753 and began operations in 1754.

Until 1762, the plant was part of the parish of the Yekaterinburg Epiphany Church, but in February of that year, by decree of the Tobolsk Spiritual Consistory, it was transferred to the Utus Church parish. The plant's own parish was established in early 1765 and also included the Pyshminsky plant. In the 1830s, the Shartash parish joined the Berezovsky parish.

On June 5, 1756, Archpriest Fyodor Kochnev, with the blessing of the Tobolsk Metropolitan Pavel, laid the foundation for a wooden church in the Berezovsky plant in honor of the Prophet Elijah, with an altar dedicated to the three hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom. The altar was consecrated on January 7, 1767, by the same Archpriest Kochnev. Information about when and by whom the Elijah Church was consecrated has not survived. On December 23, 1803, the wooden church burned down.

After the fire, the residents decided to build a stone church, but due to a lack of funds, they erected a small wooden church in the cemetery in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was laid on August 15, 1804, by a member of the Yekaterinburg Spiritual Administration, Pavel Zolotavin, and consecrated that same year by Archpriest Fyodor Karpinsky with the blessing of the Perm Bishop. After 60 years, this church became so dilapidated that it was dangerous to hold services in it. On the same cemetery, on July 20, 1868, Bishop Vassian of Yekaterinburg laid the foundation for a stone church in honor of the Assumption of the Mother of God, consecrated on August 18, 1874.

This church is now considered a subsidiary. The main stone two-altar church was built on the site of the burned wooden church. With the blessing of the Perm Bishop Justin, the laying of the church in June 1810 was conducted by Perm Archpriest Ivan Minovanov. The altar church in honor of the three hierarchs was consecrated by the dean priest Ivan Popov on January 30, 1812, and on August 28, 1813, the priest of the Catherine Cathedral, Ivan, consecrated the main Prophet Elijah church.

In 1993, the Assumption Church was restored to the status of a church. Before that, the building housed offices and a warehouse. By that time, the building had partially collapsed: the domes, apses, and bell tower were lost. The chapel adjoining the church on the west side also did not survive; office spaces were built in its place. Ceilings were installed in the church and refectory.

The restoration of the original appearance of the church became possible thanks to numerous photographs. The roof of the church part was not damaged, and the position of the domes was determined by the remaining fastenings. Currently, the domes of the church part and the bell tower have been restored.
