The Assumption Church is located at the city cemetery "Osinovaya Gora" and was designed by architect Alexander Evgenievich Grigoriev. In May 1997, at the initiative of local residents, a cornerstone and a cross with the inscription "Here will be built the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary" were installed on the cemetery grounds. The blessing of the stone was conducted by Archimandrite Nikon, the abbot of the Holy Nikolai-Shartom Monastery. Construction of the church began in 1997 and continued until 1998. It was initially planned to complete the work in one year, by the Feast of the Assumption, but due to financial difficulties, the timeline was extended. Currently, the church is operational and serves as a dependency of the Holy Nikolai-Shartom Men's Monastery located in the village of Vvedenie.
