The Nikol-Babaevsky Monastery and the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary were renovated in the 19th century thanks to donations and the efforts of the abbots. Under Abbot Savva, a new church was built in 1809 above the gates, dedicated to the Assumption of the Mother of God. It was a cubic single-domed structure located on the western line of the fence. Before the revolution, the main shrine of the church was considered to be the icon of the Assumption of the Mother of God, which contained the holy relics of the Kiev miracle workers. In the late 2000s, the church was restored.
