Dmitrievsky Pogost, located on the Peksha River, is 65 versts from Vladimir and 46 versts from the city of Pokrov. Historical information about the church in this pogost is quite limited. It is known that in 1797, with the funds of landowner Anna Semenovna Chernzova, a stone church with a bell tower was built, which has survived to this day. The church has two altars: in the cold part, in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and in the warm altar, in honor of Saint Martyr Demetrius of Salonika.

The church is well equipped with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. All church documents are kept in order, including copies of the metric books since 1801 and confession lists since 1828. According to the staff, the church is supposed to have a priest and a psalmist. Their maintenance is ensured by the interest from the parish capital amounting to 21 rubles, income from arable and haymaking land up to 100 rubles, as well as bread collections from parishioners and services, which in total amounts to up to 400 rubles a year. The clergy members live in their own houses on church land.
