Zolino is a village located in the Sosnovsky District. According to the "State Lists of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Nizhny Novgorod Region", this village is home to a monument of urban planning and architecture, the John the Baptist Church, built in 1762. The status of a monument was granted to it by order No. 5-OD on April 24, 2000. According to the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" for 1904, the church in Zolino had two altars: the main, cold altar dedicated to the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, and a warm chapel in honor of St. George the Victorious.
