The village of Karinskoye is located on the Pechkur River. In the 15th century, it was part of the metropolitan estate and later became part of the palace volost with its center in Aleksandrovskaya Sloboda. During the Time of Troubles, the village was destroyed, likely along with the local church. Patriarchal records mention that in 1642, the "Church of John the Baptist in the Tsar's palace village of Karinskoye" reappeared here. In 1736, the village and the wooden church burned down. The following year, an old church from the village of Buzhaninovo was acquired and consecrated in honor of John the Baptist. In 1817, with funds from parishioners, a stone church was built in Karinskoye to replace the wooden one. It has two altars: in the cold part in memory of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, and in the warm part, in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The neighboring Sokolovskaya manufactory in the village of Strunino significantly increased the number of parishioners. A church parish school operated in the village. During the Soviet era, the church was closed and repurposed, housing a post office and a House of Culture. Priest Sergey Vasilyevich Nefyodov was arrested in 1928 and sentenced to a year of forced labor. He was arrested again in 1933, and in 1938 he was sentenced to 8 years in a correctional labor camp. After serving his sentence, he lived in Gorokhovets, Vladimir Oblast, and served as a priest in the local church.
