The village of Yazykovo is located in the Shatkovsky district. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, the Trinity Church in this village was recognized as a historical and cultural heritage site. The church has altars: the main one, cold in honor of the Holy Trinity, as well as warm chapels dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and Saint Sergius of Radonezh. The church dates back to 1827. However, order 5-OD lost its force on October 20, 2014, according to the new order No. 159.

The book "Saint Sergius the Wonderworker and Nizhny Novgorod Land" mentions that the stone church in honor of the Holy Trinity with a chapel dedicated to Sergius of Radonezh was built in 1827 with funds from peasants and landowners. Before the revolution, the church housed a silver altar cross made in 1786 and gifted by Colonel Stefanida Fedorovna Chufarovskaya. This cross was transferred from an earlier wooden church, on the site of which the stone one was built. During the Soviet era, the Trinity Church was closed, used as a collective farm warehouse, and subsequently was destroyed.
