Church life in the village of Volnaya Artyomovka began long before the consecration of the temple, during the difficult 1990s, when the village was experiencing decline. The priest held discussions and services in the local library or club, and gradually the residents developed a desire to have at least a chapel. In May 2011, the first meeting of residents took place with the participation of representatives from the administration, where it was proposed to build not just a chapel, but a church. Local resident Ryabkin A. A. took on this task. The work progressed successfully, and local residents and friends of the church benefactor provided assistance. The dome was made with funds from the head of the city of Sudogda, Smirnov A. V. A year later, on May 19, 2012, Bishop Evlogiy consecrated the altar in the new Holy Trinity Church. Due to the small number of parishioners, the church was attached to the Holy Catherine Church in the city of Sudogda, whose priests conduct services there weekly.
