The settlement was founded around 1790, according to legend by three Old Believer brothers, the Vetoshkins. In December 1858, by the decision of the Vyatka diocese, a parish for the village of Vetoshkino was established, separating from the parishes of the villages of Baysa and Petrovskoye. The first wooden church with an altar in honor of the Holy Trinity was built and consecrated on March 23, 1860, by Priest Simeon Chuprakov. According to legend, the architect of the church was Malakh, which is why the village received a second name, Malakhovo.

A description of the Trinity Church from 1870 states: "The building is wooden with a bell tower over the porch. Inside it is plastered, outside it is covered with planks and painted. There is one altar, in the name of the Holy Trinity. It is equipped with the necessary utensils. The clergy: a priest, a deacon, a clerk, and a sexton."

After a fire on October 5, 1883, a stone church was laid, completed by 1893 with one altar in the name of the Holy Trinity. The wooden church was sold to the village of Votskoye. The bricks for construction were made in the village of Vichur. In 1910, the church was described as stone and sturdy, with sufficient utensils. It had a stone shop, a "karaushka," and four "balagans."

Notable treasures included a silver cross weighing 43 zolotniks, a gilded silver chalice, a vessel for storing chrism weighing 45 zolotniks, and a gilded tabernacle weighing 50 zolotniks. All of this was confiscated in 1922.

In 1915, the church library had 85 volumes of books. The parish school opened in 1888. Every autumn, two processions from Vyatka passed through the village. The Bishop of Vyatka and Slobodskoy visited the village in 1904 and 1914.

In 1910, the Vetoshkino church parish included 17 settlements with a population of: 4940 Russian Orthodox, 574 Old Believers, and 168 baptized Mari. During World War I, the first Adventist appeared in the parish, who studied in Germany and spread his teachings during the Soviet years.

After the stone church was built, it was served by two priests, a deacon, and two psalmists. The first priest was Ioann Domrachev. Father Vasily Spassky served for 28 years and was shot on February 19, 1930. The last priest, Stefan Bushmakin, was repressed in 1937 and died in a camp. Apollon Domrachev, the son of the first priest, also went through a concentration camp.

Church valuables were confiscated on March 17, 1922, with a re-inspection on May 22. In the 1920s, the parish joined the renovationist movement but left it after 1927. The first attempt to close the church was in January 1930 when the RIK noted the lack of a building for a school and suggested using the church. The church's influence in the Vetoshkino village council was significant, despite the presence of party organizations and a school.

The church was closed on May 13, 1939, for cultural events, but they never took place. From 1940, the building was used for MTS workshops and was completely rebuilt by 1948. In 2001, a prayer house was arranged in the former church building, and on October 18, 2001, a cross was installed on it.
