The church in the village of Ulyanovo, Lukoyanovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, was built in 1800 through the efforts of parishioners under the guidance of the local elder I. Krutoy. The church building was wooden, standing on a stone foundation, clad in planks, and covered with an iron roof painted green. Next to the church was a log bell tower, and the entire area was enclosed by a brick fence. The main altar of the church was consecrated in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity, and the chapel was dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin.

The church owned 36 desyatinas of land: three desyatinas were residential, three were for haymaking, and 30 were arable. The church servants cultivated this land themselves. Their houses, also wooden, were located on church territory. There was a building with two furnished rooms: one served as a church parish school, the other for a guardroom and accommodation for teachers. This wooden building was constructed in 1849 and was also clad in planks.
