The village of Istokskoe is located 75 versts southeast of Yekaterinburg, on the northern shore of Lake Karas, not far from the Istok River. It is known by the names Karas-Istokskoe and Istokskoe, as well as Troitskoe, thanks to the local church dedicated to the Life-Giving Trinity.

The history of the village's origin has not been preserved, but it is known that by 1711 there was a two-altar church here, indicating the ancient nature of the settlement. During the Pugachev uprising, the village served as a fortress called "Karas-Istokskaia," representing a square with the church at its center.

The modern parish includes the village and five villages: Starikova (2 versts), Davydova (4 versts), Podkorytova or Yulash (6 versts), Poplygina or Atlykul (6 versts), and Pokhodilova (9 versts).

Information about the construction of the first church in the village has not been preserved. In 1711, there was a wooden church of the Life-Giving Trinity with an altar in honor of St. Savvatiy of Solovki. This church burned down in 1787, and in 1790 a new wooden church was built, which also burned down in 1800. In 1801, a stone church was laid in its place, consecrated in 1823. The altar in honor of Savvatiy was consecrated in 1808.

By the 1850s, the bell tower associated with the church began to deteriorate and was rebuilt along with the refectory. A new iconostasis was installed in the refectory, as well as an altar in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Relieve My Sorrows," consecrated in 1854.

Between 1875 and 1880, the Holy Trinity Church was dismantled and rebuilt according to the plan of engineer Pavel Fedorovich Golyshev, and was consecrated in 1880.

Until 1800, the Istokskiy church belonged to the Tobolsk diocese and was under the administration of the Yekaterinburg Spiritual Board.

The parish has a wooden chapel in the village of Pokhodilova and a cross between the village and the village of Starikova. Annually, on June 24 and July 20, services are held at the Pokhodilova chapel, and two processions take place in the village: on the day of the Mid-Pentecost and on the day of the Transfiguration. The time and reasons for their establishment are unknown.

Since 1897, a church-parish school has been operating in the village of Istokskoe, located in a public building. In the village of Davydova, a literacy school has been operating since 1893 in rented premises, and in the village of Pokhodilova, since 1892.
