On February 15, 2008, a new settlement named Trinity Skit will appear in the Arzamas district.

In the Shatovsky rural council of the Arzamas district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, near the church in honor of the Holy Trinity, which is a dependency of the Holy Trinity Seraphimo-Diveevo Monastery, a new settlement, Trinity Skit, will be established. This decision was made at a meeting of the committee on state power and local self-government of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, as reported by the NIA Nizhny Novgorod website. Deputy Valery Osokin, who heads this committee, noted that with the official status, the village of Trinity Skit will be able to count on additional funding and gas supply. In 2009, an asphalt road is planned to be laid to the village.

The skit has actually existed for a long time, since the transfer of the Diveevo monastery to the church in honor of the Holy Trinity. The church was in a semi-ruined state, and during the repair work, the presence of the sisters was required. Services are now held in the church, the number of pilgrims has increased, and there is a need for the construction of residential and economic facilities for the development of the monastery. Therefore, the sisters of the monastery decided to register the skit as a settlement in accordance with legislative norms, and the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region supported them.

According to the press service of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the new settlement will be located on a plot of land provided to the Holy Trinity Seraphimo-Diveevo Women's Monastery for permanent and indefinite use. The area of the village will be 5.5 hectares, and its boundaries have already been defined. It will be located on the site of the former village of Khokhlovo, 1.5 km east of the village of Shatovka in the Arzamas district of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The name of the village "Trinity Skit" was approved by all parties involved in the decision-making process. By agreement with Moscow, both words in the name will be capitalized.
