In the picturesque area of the city of Totma, in the Zelenka fishing settlement, known since 1499, under the hill named Fetikha, at the mouth of the river Pyosya Denga and the bay of the Sukhona, stands the Trinity Church. The church was built from 1768 to 1788. The longest wooden bridge in the Vologda region leads from the city center to it. The Trinity Church is a monument of architecture in the unique style of Totma Baroque. Locals compare the slender and upward-reaching white church to a sailing ship and a white swan. The church was built with the funds of merchant and navigator Stepan Cherepanov, as well as grateful residents who wished to leave a mark in the history of their homeland.
