Tolsky Maidan is a village located in the Lukoyanovsky district, 20 km southeast of the district center, on the route from Nizhny Novgorod to Saratov. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the Trinity Church, built in 1799, was recognized as a historical and cultural heritage site. However, according to the Administration of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, this order was revoked on October 20, 2014, in accordance with order No. 159. As discovered by the expedition of the 'Give Understanding' foundation, the ancient church has long since disappeared, and a new temple was built in its place in 2014-2015.
