In 1912, the first wooden church in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity was built in the village of Surinsk, Syzran district, Simbirsk province. It was located on a hill and represented a traditional "ship" type building with a wide two-light square under a five-domed roof, a spacious refectory, and a four-tiered bell tower. The church was clad in timber and decorated with wooden elements in the eclectic style of "model projects." The church remained active until 1937, after which it was closed, and until its destruction in 1956, it housed a village grain storage. Several public buildings were constructed from the church logs, including an office where a prayer house in honor of the Holy Trinity was established in 1993. At that time, the building was adorned with a dome topped with a cross. In 2009, construction of a brick church began on the prayer house's territory, but by autumn 2014, it was not completed: the finishing touches and crosses were missing, although the building is easily recognizable. Overall, the new church is ready, services are held there, but local residents continue to work on the exterior decoration.
