The church was built in 1859 thanks to the efforts of first guild merchant Ivan Stupin. During the Soviet era, the church was closed and fell into disrepair. Restoration began in 2011. In the future, a skete of the Vyksa Iversky Women's Monastery is planned to be established here.

On September 15, 2012, Bishop Varvara of Vyksa and Pavlovsk consecrated the restored church in honor of the Most Holy Life-Giving Trinity. After that, the first Divine Liturgy was held in the church, led by the ruling hierarch. He was assisted by the head of the protocol service of the Vyksa Diocese, Archpriest Dmitry Kolokolov, the dean of the Vyksa district, Priest Igor Pokrovsky, and other clergy of the diocese.
