The Trinity Church, built of stone, is a parish church consisting of two parts: a summer part dedicated to the Holy Life-Giving Trinity and a winter part dedicated to the Sign of the Most Holy Theotokos. It was erected in 1789 on the site of an old wooden church by landowner Alexander Vasilyevich Sukhov-Kobylin in the village of Novo.

In the summer church, behind the left choir, there is a life-giving cross with particles of holy relics embedded in an icon. The icon depicts the Triune Deity, the prophet Moses at the burning bush, the Head of John the Baptist, as well as saints whose relics are in the cross: Evangelist Matthew, Saint John the Merciful, Saint Arsenius of Tver, Apostle Andrew, Saint Basil the Great, Saint John Chrysostom, Martyr Theodore Stratilates, Saints Guriy, Varsanofiy, and Erma, Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, Saint John, Saint Nikita, Great Martyr Barbara, Righteous Lazarus, Kirik and Ulita, as well as the icon of the Smolensk Mother of God.

The church owns 39 desyatinas and 213 square fathoms of land. In 1836, part of this land was exchanged for ownership. The priest's house is wooden and covered with shingles. The church capital amounts to 1225 rubles in tickets. The parish consists of 674 men and 769 women.

In the village of Novo, near the church, there is a teacher's seminary with a two-class school for boys and girls, funded by the Ministry of Public Education with some support from the Mologsky District Zemstvo. Three versts from the church, in the estate of Vetvino, there is a Vetvino church-parish school. The staff includes positions for a priest and a psalmist, and the parish capital amounts to 2307 rubles and 50 kopecks.
