The village of Maly Makatelem is located in the Pervomaisky District. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the rural Trinity Church, including the altars and the main altar of the Holy Trinity, as well as the chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. The church dates back to 1825. However, according to the Information of the State Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, order No. 5-OD was canceled on October 20, 2014, by order No. 159.
