The Trinity Church, a monument of urban planning and architecture of federal significance, was built in 1725. It is located in the ancient village of Lemety, which for a long time belonged to the large landowners of the Ardatov region, the Solovtsov estate.

The church is included in the directory "Monuments of History and Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region," published in 1980 under the editorship of Professor V.P. Fadeev. The authors of the architectural section, S.L. Agafonov and Yu.G. Samoylov, describe it as a cultural heritage object with a tiered structure of the "octagon on a square" type, one dome covered with tiles, and a spacious single-apsed altar. This modest rural structure represents a simplified version of the magnificent temples of the late 17th and early 18th centuries, built in the estates of Moscow boyars. They were characterized by height, rich decoration, and bright interiors, creating a festive image that contrasts with the ascetic strictness of earlier Russian architecture.

The details of the cornices and corner columns of the Trinity Church are linked to the architecture of the late 17th century, but the kokoshniks above the windows have lost their former clarity, indicating the influence of Baroque. In the second half of the 19th century, chapels were added to the church from the south and north, and at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, a bell tower was added from the west. These extensions were made from different materials and are not in harmony with the main building.

According to the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" for 1904, at the beginning of the 20th century, the church owned 34 desyatinas of land, and its parish included the village of Lemety and the village of Uzhovka with 663 men and 708 women. A church-parish school also operated in the village.

Today, Lemety is in decline: not only the 18th-century temple associated with the name of St. Seraphim of Sarov is deteriorating, but also the village House of Culture built in the 1980s. The traces of the Solovtsov estate and the church-parish school have disappeared, the roads are in poor condition, and most of the residents now rest beside the Trinity Church.

Nevertheless, there is hope for the revival of the village through pilgrimage. Lemety is mentioned in the Municipal Target Program "Development of Tourism and Creation of Tourist Industry Facilities in the Ardatov Municipal District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" for 2013 and 2015 in this context.
