Church of the Holy Trinity in Kenyshevo (Lost)

Фото 1
The dating of the church needs clarification. The address calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese for 1888 mentions a wooden Trinity church in the village of Kenyshevo in the Knyagininsky district, built in 1743. However, the architecture of the building captured in photographs from 1955 clearly indicates a later period. It is a typical wooden rural church of the historicism era, similar to other constructions of that time in southern Nizhny Novgorod province. Likely, after 1888, the old building was dismantled due to dilapidation or burned down, and a new church was built in its place, which stood until the second half of the 20th century.
