The priest of the church provides spiritual guidance to Orthodox pilgrims visiting the Vavilov Dol area, located near Ivanteyevka. This site once housed a men's monastery dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, founded on the site of the feats of the monk Vavila, after whom this area is named. In 1929, the monastery was destroyed, and its inhabitants faced repression. In Vavilov Dol, at the spring of Saint Nicholas, services with water blessing and the reading of the Akathist to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker are held on his feast days.
In 2006, the construction of a new church began, designed to accommodate 400 people. On July 2, 2010, Bishop Longin of Saratov and Volsk performed the rite of laying the foundation of the church under construction. A chapel in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker is attached to the church in Vavilov Dol.
