In 1813, Varvara Nikolaevna Karnovich, sister of Nikolai Nikolaevich, approached Archbishop Anthony of Yaroslavl and Rostov with a request to build a stone church of the Holy Trinity to replace the wooden one in the village of Kholm Ogarevo. By 1814, the construction was completed. The rector of the church, Matvey Semyonov, and the church elder, peasant Ivan Yakovlev from the village of Bolshoy, informed the archimandrite that the stone masonry in the chapel of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker was completed and decorated in accordance with the traditions of other holy temples. The church was adorned with ecclesiastical splendor, and everything necessary for conducting services was prepared.
