The parish in the village of Yelovo was founded in 1741 by Bishop Veniamin of Vyatka and Great Perm, who personally laid the foundation and consecrated the first church in Udmurtia in the name of the Holy Trinity with two altars for newly baptized Udmurts.

The decree for the construction of a wooden church was issued in 1741, and construction began on June 14 of the same year with funds from local residents. The main altar in honor of the Holy Trinity was ready for consecration in 1747, while the side altars were consecrated earlier: in honor of Saint Apostle Andrew the First-Called on November 27, 1741, and in honor of Saint Stephen, Bishop of Great Perm, in 1744.

The Vyatka Spiritual Consistory issued a decree on November 27, 1785, for the construction of a stone church. It was built in 1795 with funds from parishioners and had three altars: in the cold church, the main altar in the name of the Holy Trinity, and in the warm church, the right altar in honor of Apostle Andrew the First-Called and the left in honor of Saint Stephen of Great Perm. The altars in the warm church were consecrated from May 29 to 31, 1800, and the cold church on June 3, 1802.

By the decree of the Vyatka Spiritual Consistory on August 11, 1815, the wooden church was dismantled. In 1837, the parish included the village of Yelovo and several villages and settlements, including Yagoshuroskaya, Murkomoyevskaya, Sizminskaya, and others.

In July 1854, a wooden chapel was built in the village cemetery, and on March 4, 1878, a church parish charity was established at the church. On October 17, 1894, a women's church parish school was opened.

The Holy Trinity Church and chapel were closed by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the UASSR on December 12, 1940, and the building was repurposed for a cultural institution.

Currently, the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Yelovo is in a state of decay.
