Dievo, now pronounced as Dievo, was a settlement in the 15th century belonging to the Yaroslavl princes of the Diev family.

In the village, there is an interesting monument of stone architecture from the second half of the 18th century, the Trinity Church, built in 1787. It is designed in a style that was once called "the ship." This was the most common type of church in Yaroslavl architecture of the 18th and the first half of the 19th century. The composition includes the church itself, a summer cold church, a refectory, a winter warm church, and a bell tower.

Both parts of the building are symmetrically arranged along the longitudinal axis east-west. The summer church is a cubic volume of a quadrilateral, standing on a foundation or raised on a podium, covered with a vaulted ceiling. The refectory, rectangular in plan, is usually larger than the summer church.

The Trinity Church in Dievo Gorodishche stands out for its clarity and precision in spatial-compositional solution. A high two-light quadrilateral is adjoined by a semicircular apse on the eastern side, and a square four-pillar refectory on the western side.

The external appearance of the church is strict and executed in the style of early classicism with elements of baroque. The Yaroslavl tradition is reflected in the frieze of small kokoshniks that runs around the perimeter of the quadrilateral. The pointed archivolts of the windows of the refectory and the tiers of the bell tower likely appeared during the reconstruction of the church in 1872.

The four-tiered bell tower with a spire is adorned with Corinthian columns, the number of which decreases with each tier, and decorative vases. At the top of the bell tower were clocks with four dials facing the cardinal directions.

The successful proportions and composition of volumes play a key role in the expressiveness of the Trinity Church. The monument is located on a narrow cape at the confluence of the Shigolost river into the Volga and is designed for viewing from various distances. Its slender silhouette stands out clearly against the sky and the expanses of the Volga.

At the foot of the church, a brick church fence from the late 18th to early 19th century has been preserved, with towers topped by cylinders with gothic windows and a spire.
